Schools will remain close in NWFP

Peshawer: NWFP government has decided that the schools and colleges and their secondary education department will remain close for another week.
n a statement issued by NWFP’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, it has been notified that the schools will remain closed till November 1. Before this the schools were ordered to close from 21st to 25th of October.

Extremist Commander Killed in Sawat

During a clash between the security forces and the extremists an important extremist commander,Karimzada Alias has been killed on Saturday.
Security forces took operation in the Bharthana area of District Matta in Swat in which they got rid of the extremist commander Karimzada who was an important asset to them.
According to Swat Media Center curfew will be relaxed from 06:00 AM to 10:00 PM across the District.

ASEAN summit

The summit, which will begin today starts Friday, was originally due to be held in Pattaya in April but was cancelled because of chaotic anti-government protests in support of ousted former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

A summit between the 10 ASEAN nations will be following by a meeting with partners China, Japan, South Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand. With closer economic ties on the agenda in the wake of the global economic crisis, all invited delegations have confirmed they will attend.

Kamra suicide blast

Attock: In Kamra suicide blast 15 person were taken to the hospital including the two security personnels, the death toll has increased to 8 in the incident.
According to Attock Police Chief DPO Fakhar Sultan Raja, the distorted face and other organs of the suicide bombers have been found, adding the bomber was riding a cycle, who blew himself up on being intercepted.

Operation Rah-e-Nijat, 6 Uzbeks apprehended

Thirteen terrorists have been killed and six Uzbeks were apprehended during the operation in South Waziristan.
Security forces also recovered 1 Vickers machine gun, 1 Rocket launcher along with 3 rockets, 2 Kalashnikovs along with 300 rounds, 1 sniper rifle, 1 hand grenade, 2 Mukhabra communication sets and books in Uzbek language.

Operation Rah-e-Nijat

According to the sources ten more militants are killed today during the operation Rah-e-Nijat in South Waziristan.
The sources said more then 100 militants including six foreigners have been killed so far. A security official has been martyred and two wounded during clashes.

Supreme Court prices for sugar

On Thursday 22nd October 2009
The Supreme Court Of Pakistan has asked the government for the availability of sugar to the consumer at Rs 38 to Rs 40 per kilogram.
Under the belt of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry the case of sugar prices have been heard. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that the government has been failed to provide sugar to the people at cheap and low prices.

Blasts in Islamic University, School and colleges will remain close

All the educational institutions in Punjab, NWFP, Sindh and Azad Kashmir will remain close till the 24th of this month. While the Punjab government has announced to close the institutions for an indefinite period of time. The blasts in the Islamic University, one in the girls canteen and the other in the Shariah block has worst the situation of the country and it has been made difficult for the students to continue their studies in a peaceful manner. Six persons were killed last night including the three female students of the country.
